Here is my prediction on the 2023 Opening Day Roster for the San Francisco Giants. One thing to keep in mind that the opening day roster is just one day. This front office is fluid enough where they’ll make adjustments as soon as a couple days in if needed, partially dependent on who is scheduled to start for the other team(s). They like to think of the 40 man as an extension to the 26 man. Placing players on the 60 day IL will open up some 40 man spots for those that do not yet have roster spots (which for procedural reasons cannot be done yet). This means that it's very likely that on opening day they have Bryce Johnson, but then they option him after a few games in favor of Sean Hjelle - when it’s his turn to piggy back.
Pitchers (short inning guys denoted by *)
Scott Alexander *

Camilo Doval *
Jakob Junis
Sean Manaea
Tyler Rogers *
Taylor Rogers *
Ross Stripling

Catchers (three catchers it is!)
Joey Bart
Roberto Perez (could be Austin Wynns. Either one will need a 40 man spot cleared -from Luke Jackson going on the 60 day IL )
Blake Sabol
Infielders
Brandon Crawford
Jd Davis
Thairo Estrada
Wilmer Flores
David Villar
LaMonte Wade Jr
Outfielders
Michael Conforto
Mitch Haniger
Joc Pederson
Mike Yaztremski
Bryce Johnson (taking Slater’s 26 man roster spot, and Luis Gonzalez’s 40 man spot - 60 day IL with back surgery)
If Haniger needs to start on the 15 day, they could select Piscotty, but they’d need another 40 man spot - probably from Thomas Szapucki landing on the 60 day IL.
The only obvious omissions are Austin Wynns (if they go with Roberto Perez or vice versa), Sean Hjelle (who I think will get called up when it's his turn to pitch), and Cole Waites - who started a little behind because of an injury.
